Committing gain and performance-sensitive effects can shape the way a part is played. A simultaneous dry DI adds reamping insurance. Confirm whether the processor sends separate wet and dry USB channels and at what levels.
Control monitoring latency
Direct hardware monitoring feels immediate but may differ from the recorded software path. Software monitoring includes interface, buffer and plugin latency. Avoid monitoring both at once, which creates comb filtering and a doubled feel.
Document the signal
Save the preset, firmware version, guitar, input setting, tempo and output mode with the session. Stereo effects consume two channels and influence mix placement; record stereo because it serves the arrangement, not because two outputs are available.
