Multi-Effects vs. Individual Pedals

Individual pedals keep controls visible and make one-effect changes immediate. Multi-effects can recall an entire signal path and controller state with one preset. Setlists with coordinated changes reward recall; improvisational sessions may reward one-knob access.
Count connections and failure domains
A pedalboard spreads risk across devices but adds patch, power and switching points. A processor reduces cabling but concentrates the rig in one unit. Compare how quickly either system can be bypassed, repaired or replaced during a performance.
Consider a deliberate hybrid
Keep pedals whose interaction or controls are central, then use a processor for routing, modulation, delay, reverb or amplification. Confirm loop levels, conversion points, latency and controller assignments so the hybrid remains simpler than the two systems it combines.
